3 Ways to Earn Golf Discounts

Many golf courses are experiencing a reduction in membership and decline in revenue from pay-as-you-play golfers. In an effort to combat this, many courses and golf resorts are offering discounts. There are three ways to earn discounts: purchase a golf card, buy a golf discount book, and by taking advantage of promotional deals at individual golf courses.

Promotional Deals

Promotional deals can come in many forms. Some golf courses and resorts offer a free play card which gives you one round of golf free after playing a specific amount of rounds. Another type of promotion that most golf courses offer is if your group is willing to play at less-booked times such as the afternoon or during twilight hours you could receive a significant discount. Some courses will offer a “play all day for the price of one 18-hole round of golf” or “play 18 holes for the price of 9 holes” during specific times of the day when it is the slowest. Many golf resorts and golf country clubs offer packages such as a date night golf package where you and your date will be able to enjoy two passes for an 18-hole round of golf and dinner at the golf course or resort. For those who have children, many golf courses and resorts offer junior discounts that allow children to play for free after 4pm when accompanied by an adult who is paying full price for a round of golf.

Golf Discount Books

Golf discount books are another option that golf courses and those affiliated with the course offers. When you buy a golf book you get discounts on any of the golf courses mentioned in the book and each course specifies what the golf discount is. Some examples of these golf discounts may include having a group of four players play a round of golf for the price of three, getting free cards when four players pay full price for green fees, get discounts on each round of golf just for purchasing this book, and if you are a frequent player at a specific golf course you can play three rounds of golf and get the fourth round for free.

Membership Cards

Many golf courses and golf resorts offer golf discount cards and regional membership cards. These cards offer discounts on specific golf courses when you pay for a membership. Troon is one of the most popular membership cards offered. Some of the discounts include two-some and four-some frequent player cards that give 50% off standard green fees. A state card or a regional card gives golfers the best rates on participating golf courses and resorts. It also offers preferred rates and international golf courses and resorts.

If you are an avid golfer who just wants to play golf as much as possible without spending large amounts of money, there are many options out there that can help you keep as much money in your wallet as possible.
